CA Could Pay Homeowners $40,000 to Building an ADU

The State of CA just approved $50 Million dollars to assist homeowners with $40,000 grants so that they can build an “Auxiliary Dwelling Unit aka ADU” in their backyards.

The State of CA ran the ADU grant program last year and it was a huge success because 2500 homes were built. Because the State of CA is still short on housing, the CA legislature is bringing back the grant program.
